Projects Pending Approval

Flournoy - Hardy Transmission Improvements Project

Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) representatives plan to rebuild and upgrade approximately 10 miles of 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line. This project strengthens the local electric system and provides more reliable service for the Shreveport region.



Approved Projects

Longwood - Scottsville Transmission Line Rebuild Project

SWEPCO plans to upgrade a 16-mile 138-kilovolt transmission line between Longwood, Lousiana and Scottsville, Texas. Plans involve replacing existing wooden poles with steel single-pole structures and installing new wires along the transmission line route. The company expects to invest approximately $18 million on this upgrade project.

North Shreveport - Longwood Transmission Line Rebuild Project

SWEPCO plans to invest approximately $18 million in upgrading the electric transmission grid in the North Shreveport and Longwood areas in Louisiana. The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2019.
